About us
The IPAL Intracoastal Police Activities/Athletic LeagueIPAL a two-city collaboration spearheaded by the late Aventura Commissioner Michael Stern. Its purpose is to provide meaningful leadership initiatives and athletic programs that are accessible for our youth. Through a mutual partnership between the Aventura Police Department and the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, with the support of their respective city commissions, IPAL was created to provide a welcoming common meeting ground for police officers, community leaders, and youth. Its ultimate goal is to engage teens in positive, structured environments rather than on the streets. IPAL offers programming for teens ages 13–17 across Aventura and Sunny Isles Beach, providing mentorship experiences, educational opportunities, community service, recreational activities, and amateur athletics that promote growth, connection, and positive engagement.
IPAL offers programming for teens ages 13–17 across Aventura and Sunny Isles Beach. Our teens benefit from the dedication of civilian and police coaches, mentors, and instructors, who choose to give back by investing their time, experience, and passion into the community.
